You’ve never seen Pivot Tables like this 🤯

3 things we’re covering today:

  • The Pivot Table revolution 💪
  • How to generate complex reports with 1 click 🤯
  • Use Dynamic Arrays to get your Power Query data

🎬 Create Pivot Tables Like NEVER Seen Before!

video preview

Exciting news! Excel Pivot Tables just got a major upgrade, and I cover it all in my latest video.

You can now include images in Excel PivotTables. But that's not all.

In the video I also show you how to make PivotTables more visually appealing using Excel data types like stocks, currencies, and geography. Plus, you can insert custom data types.

This means you get clickable cards for some fields, with more information condensed INSIDE the card. It's a game-changer for organizing and presenting data effectively.

The possibilities are endless:

  1. Compress competitor data into data types and add them to your pivots.
  2. Enhance competitor analysis reports by adding company logos.
  3. Impress clients by including their logos in your reports.
  4. Make your product analysis more engaging with images.

🦓 Zebra BI - Unlock the Power of Data Visualization

I’ve been really impressed with Zebra BI.

My team and I had a meeting with them last week and they presented their chart add-in for Excel and PowerPoint. I was skeptical at the beginning because I’m quite picky with templates: They usually have too many restrictions, I waste a lot of time trying to overcome them and then I end up creating the charts from scratch.

But 10 minutes into the meeting I realized this tool is different. Every time we asked them “but can it also do this?” or “what if my data is like that?” - they would show us the solution with just a few clicks. Everything had been accounted for. You get to create stunning reports without the hassle of designing them yourself.

They have dozens of premade templates for Excel and PowerPoint. You can easily create IBCS-compliant charts with integrated comments, variance and custom calculations. All giving you additional context & explanations of your data.

🤓 Geeky News

📊 Excel - Get Power Query Data from Dynamic Arrays (rolled out to Office current channel)

You can now get your data in Excel Power Query from Dynamic Arrays ranges, which means you can send the result of your FILTER or UNIQUE functions to Power Query! This gives you a third way of sending Excel data from your current workbook into Power Query (the other two are via tables and named ranges).

📋 Microsoft Forms - Save and Edit Survey Responses
Sometimes, you need to review and change your answers to a form or survey after submission. Microsoft Forms has you covered - you can now review and edit your responses, so long as the form creator enabled "Allow respondents to save their responses”.

🤖 Bing AI - Voice Chat on Desktop
Bing chat now lets you ask questions on desktop using just your voice. And it’ll respond with its own voice! This should speed up your AI workflows.

“Why would I use Python in Excel if it can’t handle external data?” That’s the top complaint I hear. And it’s flat-out wrong. You see, Python people try to use Python code to import the data. That doesn't work. Excel people do copy-paste or load via Power Query into a sheet. That works - but it bloats your file. And if your dataset has more rows than Excel can handle, you're stuck. The solution? Don't load your data into Excel at all. Go from a raw CSV... ...to a clean correlation heatmap in...

You open the file. The formula’s broken. The chart’s gone. Cell colors? A rainbow mess. You don’t know who did it. Doesn’t matter. Excel’s Version History has your back. It quietly keeps snapshots of your file, so you can rewind, review, and restore past versions. Find out what changed, when, and roll back if needed. Fix the mess. No drama. No blame. 👉 Here’s how to use it—fast. (BTW, if you want to create a dashboard like the one on the right - before someone took a sledgehammer to it 🔨 -...

You’re tracking the numbers. But do they mean anything? 📚 More hours studying. 📈 More money on ads. 💤 More steps before bed. Are they actually making a difference, or are you just hoping they are? Most people guess. Smart ones use a simple Excel function to find out. It’s called RSQ, and it tells you how much one thing affects another. Never heard of it? You’re not alone. We ran a quiz last week and only 10% of our community got it right. 👀 When you do get it, everything changes. No more gut...
