This issue of Between the Sheets has been inspired by the XelPlus community, as I go back to one of my older videos to highlight the most rewatched topics and answer questions raised in the comments.
In focus today:

File explorer received some major upgrades last year, including the long-awaited tabs.
I've recorded a video, and, surprisingly, the tabs weren't the most popular topic covered but rather an older feature that not many people knew about.
There are many useful and often overlooked features under "See more" (the ellipsis), including selection options.
There's "Select all" and "Select none", and there's also Invert selection.
It allows you to easily select multiple non-consecutive files and exclude others. You start by selecting the files you want to exclude (hold down Ctrl if you select more than one). Then go to More > Invert selection. Magic 🪄
You can now copy or delete the selected files, or - another great hidden feature - copy as path (there's also a shortcut for that: Ctrl + Shift + C).
💡 You can paste the copied file paths into Excel and use them for various operations, like bulk renaming, batch image processing, automating data import in Power Query, automating backups, or creating hyperlinks in documents.
🤔 What other uses can you think of? If you have a cool idea, why not reply to this email with your suggestion - perhaps you'll inspire a future video? 😊
Coming back to the file explorer video, many commenters pointed out that the tabs would be more useful if you could also move them between windows.
Guess what? Microsoft has since updated the experience and it's now possible. 🥳
If you want to move the tab to a brand new window, just drag and drop the tab outside the Explorer window and it will open in a new window!
One option still missing from Explorer is the ability to easily duplicate a tab. Hopefully it will be added soon. Until then, here's a workaround.
Use these shortcuts:
If you're fluent with your keyboard shortcuts, you can do this quickly (with less sweat).
Still, would be nice to get it done with a single click... A girl can dream 💭😉

Microsoft is launching a new Windows App, enabling users to remotely connect to a Cloud PC from various platforms, including macOS, iOS, iPadOS, Windows, and web browsers.
The app acts as a portal to Windows 365, Azure Virtual Desktop, Microsoft Dev Box, and Microsoft's Remote Desktop Services. It's currently available as a preview for Microsoft work or school accounts.
This should make it easier for Mac users to access Windows-exclusive applications like Power BI Desktop.
A few months ago, Microsoft announced Cocreator - a DALL-E 3 integration in Paint. Now the feature is finally rolling out.
Similar to the Image Creator experience in Bing and DALL-E 3 in ChatGPT Plus, it allows you to generate images by describing what you want to see.
You may have to sign up for the waitlist before you start getting creative.
If you're struggling to come up with good, detailed prompts for AI, this might be something for you. Microsoft Bing is testing Deep Search, a new feature utilizing OpenAI's GPT-4.
Deep Search enhances Bing's existing web search by expanding queries into detailed descriptions and delving deeper into the web to find relevant results often missed in typical searches.
Currently in an experimental phase, Deep Search will be a significant upgrade for users requiring detailed and specific information.
Mental health forms the core of a productive, balanced life.
When we're driving somewhere and need gas, we automatically pull over to fill up, no second thoughts. But when it comes to taking a break during a busy work day, somehow it's harder to remember to take time to recharge. We may not visually see our "tank" hitting red, but that doesn't mean it's not happening. Specially during busy days. Those pauses are super important! But all too often they take the backseat to the daily grind.
It was a struggle for me, especially when I was creating the first XelPlus courses and developing my business. It was stressful, but I kept going. The work wasn't about to do itself.
Only with time, I realized the toll it was taking on me and my physical as well as mental health.
All too often, we prioritize work over anything else. And that doesn't apply just to business owners. It's true in any job, role, or profession. You can't derive your self-worth from your work.
Ever since that belated realization, I do take the time to prioritize my well-being.
So, it's been a privilege and a pleasure to be featured in Forbes, in their latest installment of Growth *Not* At All Costs series.
In the article, I got to share some of my struggles, as well as the coping strategies and wellness techniques I adopted since. I took up coaching, as well as meditation, journalling and (self-)hypnosis.
The article features other female business owners who dealt with the same pressure of constant growth and had to find their own mindfulness strategies, like workouts, dance classes, yoga, time spent with family and friends.
None of these are particularly groundbreaking. You'll find similar suggestions in every wellness book, blog, podcast, or doctor's rant 😉. But still not enough people actually make time for those simple activities that can make a world of difference.
Trust me, your mind and body will thank you. As will your business, or career, in the long term.
Lukas's story has been inspiring. You should never stop learning and developing new skills.
If you're considering a career change, or wish to move up in your current role, keep your mind open to new opportunities, experiences, and knowledge.
I'm happy to have contributed in a small part to Lucas's journey with the Master Power Query course. Power Query is an incredible tool that can simplify and automate so many processes (freeing up your time to focus on your well-being).

Since we started unpacking Python in Excel, one theme keeps popping up: “I get that Python's powerful… but what exactly does it do inside Excel?” “And do I really need to learn it?” Fair questions. Especially with all the AI buzz and Copilot updates. So let’s get clear. Python is the same language that powers Instagram algorithms and self-driving cars. But inside Excel, it’s your shortcut to deeper, smarter data analysis: Discover trends Excel charts can’t reveal Run complex forecasting...
You know those annoying problems that waste more time than they should? A report lands in your inbox… but the dates are in some weird format you can't use. You’ve got data in columns that should be flipped to rows. The dataset’s huge. The deadline’s close. And you're still looking for a clear takeaway for your slide. You’ve probably run into one of these. Or all three. And dealing with them? Takes way longer than it should. But what if you could solve each of these in under 30 seconds... with...
✨ Found something new hiding in plain sight. Opened Excel… and nearly missed it. There’s a new Get Data interface rolling out in the Beta channel. Cleaner design, searchable source list, and everything in one place. A small UI change, but a great excuse to revisit one of Excel’s most powerful tools: Power Query. If you're pulling tables from PDFs, scraping web data, combining files from a folder, or just cleaning up messy CSVs... Power Query makes it repeatable, reliable, and refreshable....
