3 things we’re covering today:
I have something exciting for you in this week’s video!
Microsoft is rolling out a new Excel feature called ‘Place in Cell’ that lets you insert pictures inside cells.
This lets you create more advanced and professional looking Excel dashboards without the need for complex solutions.
Inserting images in cells makes it easy to use functions like XLOOKUP or FILTER to return an image.
Place in Cell is currently in beta only, and only released to a percentage of people in the beta channel. I was lucky to have it on one of my PCs at home in the cellar!
Hence the poorer audio quality in my video.

📈Power BI - Cool update to card visuals
Microsoft have created a new version of the card visual for Power BI! You can now display multiple cards in a single container, and have full control over every component of each card. This should make it easier to access and interact with your data.
👥 Teams - Collaborative Meeting Notes
Microsoft Teams Public Preview users can now use collaborative meeting notes. These let meeting attendees work together to create agendas, take notes, and generate action items.
Any notes you take will be synchronized across all you devices. And if you get assigned a task via Collaborative notes, they’ll auto-sync with To Do and Planner.
👩🏫 PowerPoint - New Auto-Scrolling Teleprompter (Currently in beta)
Power Point has a new auto-scrolling teleprompter feature that lets you make better eye contact and know exactly where you are as you’re giving a speech or presentation.
Just press ‘record’, and Power Point will detect when and how fast you’re talking, moving the on-screen text automatically.
📋Microsoft Forms - Share Live Surveys
You can now conduct Microsoft Forms surveys live. With a QR scan or short URL, your audience can participate in a live survey, and view real-time responses as feedback comes in.

This week, I had the pleasure of speaking at the 49th Controller Congress in Munich - one of Europe's top events for finance leaders and controllers. It was an incredible crowd. Smart. Experienced. People who work with data every day. My session was about AI in Excel. In 40 minutes, we walked through a "day in the life" of a modern data analyst - using the AI features in Excel. When we got to Analyze Data, I asked for a quick show of hands. Who here is using it? Out of more than 400 seasoned...
“Why would I use Python in Excel if it can’t handle external data?” That’s the top complaint I hear. And it’s flat-out wrong. You see, Python people try to use Python code to import the data. That doesn't work. Excel people do copy-paste or load via Power Query into a sheet. That works - but it bloats your file. And if your dataset has more rows than Excel can handle, you're stuck. The solution? Don't load your data into Excel at all. Go from a raw CSV... ...to a clean correlation heatmap in...
You open the file. The formula’s broken. The chart’s gone. Cell colors? A rainbow mess. You don’t know who did it. Doesn’t matter. Excel’s Version History has your back. It quietly keeps snapshots of your file, so you can rewind, review, and restore past versions. Find out what changed, when, and roll back if needed. Fix the mess. No drama. No blame. 👉 Here’s how to use it—fast. (BTW, if you want to create a dashboard like the one on the right - before someone took a sledgehammer to it 🔨 -...
